SLP file extension - Pro/ENGINEER rendering file
What is slp file? How to open slp files?
File type specification:
The slp file extension is associated with the Pro/Engineer (also known as Creo Elements/Pro) a CAD and CAM solution for Microsoft Windows developed by PTC.
A .slp file stores 3D data rendered in the Pro/Engineer.
SLP can be considered a very old and basic ASCII file format of the 1990s exported from Pro/Engineer. It is very similar to the world's simplest 3D file format, STL, but it also allows for a color to be assigned to each polygon and vertex normals to be associated with each vertex. The modem way to convert from ProE/Creo would be via native CAD files or IGES/STEP and not via SLP or STL.
The default software associated to slp file type:

Pro/Engineer is integrated 3D CAD/CAM/CAE solution used to mechanical engineering, design and manufacturing. First version was released in 1997. Pro/Engineer runs on Microsoft Windows and Unix. In 2010 Pro/Engineer was renamed on Creo Elements/Pro.
