The .sti file extension is associated with StarOffice, an office suite that served as an alternative to Microsoft Office. StarOffice was discontinued in 2010, and LibreOffice became one of its successors.
An .sti file contains a presentation template, including reusable presentation design elements such as layouts and styles. It is used with the presentation component of StarOffice and related office suites rather than as a finished presentation.
The format is a legacy template format. StarOffice, Apache OpenOffice Impress, LibreOffice Impress, and Lotus Symphony can work with compatible STI templates on their supported platforms, including Microsoft Windows and other desktop platforms.
Open the .sti file with StarOffice Presentation or with the presentation component of Apache OpenOffice or LibreOffice. In LibreOffice, use Impress to open the template. Lotus Symphony may also open compatible STI templates.
If the file does not open directly, start the presentation program and use its Open command to select the file.
Open the .sti file in StarOffice, Apache OpenOffice Impress, or LibreOffice Impress, then save it in the program's current presentation-template format, such as an .otp template, when that option is available.
To create a finished presentation from the template, apply it to a new presentation and save or export the result in a presentation format supported by the program.

The sti file extension is related to the Datastitch embroidery design/editing/lettering/stitch transfer format, developed by DataStitch.com and used by Stitch Vista software.
Seems to be very rare used or obsolete file format.
Much like any other embroidery file, *.sti files can be opened in some embroidery software.
Plenty of embroidery programs can re-save between various embroidery formats.

Unsealer creates and opens STI files containing sealed TIFF images. The sealing protects the image data and means that standard image software may not be able to read the file directly.
On Microsoft Windows, STI files are associated with Unsealer. On Linux and Unix systems, darktable can open this format.
On Microsoft Windows, open the STI file with Unsealer. On Linux or Unix, try opening it with darktable.
If the file does not open, it may require the original sealing application or compatible access to the protected image.
Generic image converters may not be able to convert an STI file while it remains sealed. Open the file with Unsealer or darktable, then export or save the image as a standard TIFF or another supported image format.
