Check out some options how xlsx files might be converted to gct format.
Whilst GenePattern GCT format is based on simple tab-delimited text format (.tsv files), it doesn't seem likely you can create it from Excel spreadsheet (.xls, .xlsx), unless it had exact same data from original .gct file. Unfortunately, we have no information about any program that can be used for the purposes of xlsx to gct conversion.
Unfortunately, there is no detailed software record in the database for this conversion.
This conversion entry was verified by us and conversion from xlsx to gct was flagged as wrong or not possible.
Usually this happens when the conversion would try to convert different types of data between each other, such as audio to image, or it can't be done because incompatibility between programs, caused by closed file formats, very limited support or by other problems.

XLSX
Files with xlsx extension are s used by Microsoft Excel for its workbooks (spreadsheets) in Office Open XML format. XLSX is the latest spreadsheet format used by Excel with the adoption of XML formatting first used in Office 2007. While older xls files were in proprietary binary file format, xlsx spreadsheets use a somewhat altered XML scheme.
GCT
Files with gct suffix can be often found as cheat generated using the Ocarina Cheat Code Manager.
A gct file extension is related to the GenePattern expression data file format used to store DNA sequences and other related data.
