File extension icon is generally used by many various applications on most platforms for icon image files.
Icons may be used to represent a file, folder, application or even device in a computer operating system. A computer icon usually ranges from 16 by 16 pixels up to 128 by 128 pixels, but some operating systems can feature icons up to 512 by 512 pixels.
You can use any image viewer or image editor, such as Axialis IconWorkshop, Image Forge, IcoFX, XnView, Apple Icon Composer etc. to view .icon files.
Image viewers or Image editors support conversion to other bitmap or vector formats. You can use them to convert *.icon files to other vector or bitmap format.
