A typical .nbf file is basically renamed zip archive that contain compressed backup data of memory data saved to SD card.
Should not be confused with nfb backups, which contain phone backup including address book and settings and are created with Nokia PC Suite.
To extract the *.nbf files just rename the NBF file extension to ZIP and decompress with any suitable utility, such as WinRAR.
Several Nokia utilities can export various data like contacts, messages etc. out of NBF backups. There is however no way how to actually convert these files to any other file.
