VNA is the text-based network-data format used by NetDraw, a network-visualization program from Analytic Technologies. The format stores network data together with attributes of the nodes and display information such as color and size.
VNA attribute data can be textual as well as numeric. For example, a gender attribute can contain values such as "male" and "female" instead of numeric codes.
A VNA file is made up of sections identified by an asterisk, often called star sections. Sections are optional and can appear in any order, so a file does not need to contain every possible section.
Open the file in NetDraw on Microsoft Windows to work with its network data and visualization settings.
Because VNA files are ordinary text files, a text editor can also display or edit their contents, but it will not render the network as a diagram.
