Split Multi-volume ALZip EGG compressed file archive (part 6)
File type: Archive and compressed file

The .vol6.egg file extension is associated with the ALZip archiver and identifies part 6 of a multi-volume compressed egg. EGG is a compressed archive format developed by ESTsoft, the developer of ALZip.
When an EGG archive is split into volumes, ALZip creates a set of numbered files. The .vol6.egg file contains one portion of that set rather than a complete, independent archive. The other volumes are required to reconstruct the archive and extract its files.
ALZip supports this archive type on Microsoft Windows, and ALZip for Mac supports it on Apple macOS and Mac OS X.
Keep the complete volume set in the same folder and open the first volume with ALZip. Do not try to open the .vol6.egg file by itself, because it is only one part of the archive.
On Windows, use ALZip. On macOS or Mac OS X, use ALZip for Mac. If the program does not detect the set, check that all volumes are present and that their filenames have not been changed.
The .vol6.egg file cannot be meaningfully converted on its own. To access the contents, open the complete multi-volume set in ALZip and extract the files.
After extraction, the files can be added to a new archive in another format supported by an archiver. This creates a new archive; it does not convert the individual volume directly.
