How can I open a .webarchive file on Windows?
Got a .webarchive file and you don't know what it is and what to do with it? It's really simple. Web archives, or Safari documents, contain a completely saved website including al images, videos and other elements that it had at the moment when it was created. So lets see how to open .webarchive files.
In order to open a .webarchive file first and foremost install Safari web browser, because without Safari, you cannot open .webarchive files. Installation will automatically associate WEBARCHIVE file extension directly with Safari. You can tell that from new icon that will be shown on .webarchive files.
With Safari installed, just double click on a .webarchive file and it will be opened in the web browser. As you can see on the screenshots below. If you enlarge them, you can see the local path of the file instead of web address in the URL box of Safari.
Webarchives not automatically associated?
If for some reason Safari does not automatically associate .webarchives files with it, you can open them manually.
Right-click on the .webarchive file you want to open, select the Open with... option and choose Safari browser as the program that should open the files. And like before, the page saved in the archive will be opened in your browser.
