It looks that it's not possible to convert .aae files to any of the known IMG formats. AAE format contains special metadata for an actual digital picture, it does not contain the image itself, which means aae to img conversion is not doable.

You have to look for the actual picture (typically JPEG) that should located in the same folder as the .aae file.
