As far as we know, fdx to xav conversion is most likely related to attempts to recover old draft from the Final Draft screenwriting software, something that might actually not be possible with the latest versions of the software.

Files with fdx extension can be mainly found as documents made using Final Draft script writing software.
Files with fdx file extension can be also found as some sort of indexes from Apache Lucene text search engine library.
XAV
Files with xav extension can be still found as old script writing documents made using Final Draft AV screen writing tool, version 2.
