Check out some options how xlam files might be converted to xlsx format.
Both .xlam and .xlsx files come from MS Excel, but direct xlam to xlsx conversion is not possible, simply because .xlam is addin (plugin) and not a spreadsheet with data. What you can do however is to install the add-in and use some of it functions on your spreadsheet. But otherwise there is really no way how to convert xlam to xlsx.
Unfortunately, there is no detailed software record in the database for this conversion.

Usually this happens when the conversion would try to convert different types of data between each other, such as audio to image, or it can't be done because incompatibility between programs, caused by closed file formats, very limited support or by other problems.

XLAM
Files with xlam extension are special macro-enabled add-ins for Microsoft Excel. Used to add new functions or enhance existing spreadsheets.
XLSX
Files with xlsx extension are s used by Microsoft Excel for its workbooks (spreadsheets) in Office Open XML format. XLSX is the latest spreadsheet format used by Excel with the adoption of XML formatting first used in Office 2007. While older xls files were in proprietary binary file format, xlsx spreadsheets use a somewhat altered XML scheme.
