File extension BarRax appears to be used for one of the variants of HiddenTear ransomware that was first encountered in late February 2017.
Much like other similar ransomware, it encrypts and renames user files.
Perhaps some of the HiddenTear decryptors may be of help here.
You would have to recover the files first, before you can convert them to anything else.
