File extension serpent seems to mainly related to Serpent ransomware, which appeared first in February 2017.
Serpent Ransomware seems to be distributed via SPAM emails that focus on Danish victims. The spam emails have a subject like "Sidste påmindelse for udestående faktura 1603750" and contain a link to MS Word document that the victim has to download.
Unfortunately, we do not know about any decryptor for .serpent files yet.
You can only convert the original files once they have been successfuly decrypted.
