File extension deskthemepack is probably best know for its usage for desktop themes used in Microsoft Windows 8/10/11.
Desktop themes in Windows 8 and 10 now support displaying large wallpapers on dual-monitors or several smaller images on multi-monitor systems. These files are incompatible with Windows 7 and cannot be easily used in the system.
Much like the themepack format, it is a simple CAB archive, that contains a configuration file in theme format that handles settings like color and a DesktopBackground folder that contains images in jpg format. These images are typically in the 3840x1200 resolution or higher.
Might also contain other elements, like screen saver, sounds, desktop icons, mouse pointers etc.
Themes for Windows 8/10/11 are usually labeled as panoramatic and you can find plenty of them at Microsoft Personalization Gallery website.
To install the theme simply double-click on the *.deskthemepack file.
You can extract the contents of the *.deskthemepack files with 7-zip or any other archiver with support of Microsoft CAB format.
