Files with 3ga extension are audio files stored in 3GPP multimedia file format. 3GPP file format was developed for 3G and UMTS mobile networks multimedia services. 3GPP is supported by variety of mobile producers, such as Nokia, Samsung etc. 3GA file extension identifies only audio stream stored in 3GPP multimedia container. Audio stream can use AMR-NB, AMR-WB, AMR-WB+, AAC-LC, HE-AAC v1 or Enhanced aacPlus (HE-AAC v2) audio codecs.

File extension 3ga is associated with the 3GPP multimedia file format. 3GPP is multimedia container developed by Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for 3G UMTS wireless mobile networks multimedia services (MMS, IMS, MBMS and PSS).
The 3ga file extension identifies only audio stream stored in 3GPP container. 3GA audio can use AMR-NB, AMR-WB, AMR-WB+, AAC-LC, HE-AAC v1 or Enhanced aacPlus (HE-AAC v2) audio codecs.
The 3GP/3GA file format are supported by variety of mobile phones producers such as Samsung, Nokia etc.
Audio streams in 3GPP file format are playable in many multimedia players. If your audio player doesn't contain direct support for 3GA audio files, but supports 3GP multimedia files, rename 3GA file extension to 3GP file extension and try to playback renamed file again.
Use VLC Media Player, Apple QuickTime, Mplayer to playback *.3ga audio streams.
Use any 3GP or 3GA audio converter to convert 3ga audio file to any other audio file format.
