The emulecollection file extension is associated with eMule, a peer-to-peer file-sharing application developed by the eMule project.
An .emulecollection file contains a sequence of lines identifying ed2k (eDonkey Network) links. Each entry can include the file name, file size, and a hash code used to identify and verify the file, including when recovering corrupted file data.
The format is used for collections of files that can be added to or referenced by eMule. Compatible software includes aMule on Apple macOS and Mac OS X and eMule Plus on Microsoft Windows.
Open an .emulecollection file with eMule on Microsoft Windows. The file is intended to provide a collection of ed2k links to the client rather than to be read as a document.
On Apple macOS or Mac OS X, use aMule. eMule Plus can be used on Microsoft Windows. A text editor can display the links, but it will not manage or download the referenced files.
An .emulecollection file is not normally converted to another file format. Its contents are a collection of ed2k links, which can be viewed or copied as text if needed.
To use the collection in another compatible client, open or import the file there when that client provides such an option. Converting it does not convert the files identified by the links.
