Kryptel normally changes the original file extension to .k2p when it encrypts a file.

Kryptel is file encryption software developed by Inv Softworks. Its encrypted files use the .k2p file extension by default.
A k2p file contains the encrypted contents of the original file. Kryptel changes the original extension to .k2p so the file is identified as encrypted data rather than as its original file type. The file must be decrypted before the original data can be used normally.
Open a k2p file with Kryptel on Microsoft Windows. Use Kryptel's decryption command and provide the required password.
Renaming the file to its original extension does not decrypt it and will not make it usable by the original application.
A k2p file cannot be meaningfully converted while it remains encrypted. Decrypt it with Kryptel first, then use the resulting original file with its associated application.
