The library-ms file extension is associated with the Microsoft Windows 7. Library description file contains XML schema, that defines library. Library aggregates items from local or remote storage location into a single view in Windows Explorer.
Library contains files, that are stored in one or more locations. Library do not actually store these files, but it monitors the folders that contain the files, and let user access and arrange the files in different ways.
For example, a user can have music files in multiple folders on a local hard disk and also on an external hard disk. Using the Music Library, the user can access all of those files at the same time and sort them all by artist name or album title as a single group.
Library description file is in a simple text file format and contains XML schema. You can open it in any text editor such as Windows Notepad, Notepad++, TextEdit, Gedit etc..
