The mhp file extension seems to be mainly related to some old and apparently discontinued e-mail client for Unix and Unix-based operating systems called Mailshift.
It looks like that .mhp file from Mailshift represents e-mail document or message.
As far as we know, you can work with this type of .mhp files only in the original Mailshift. But perhaps you can view the content using a text editor.
It may have been possible to export the message to some common format in the original program, but since it is no longer available it is hard to determine if that was really the case.

The mhp file extension seems to be also used for the default file type of Maths Helper Plus mathematical software that can be used to perform and visualize various mathematical problems and operations.
The mhp file will be created when you save data with the program.
It seems that this file type can only be loaded in the original Maths Helper Plus software.
No conversion for this file type is known to us at this time, but perhaps some kind of export is possible with the original program.

The mhp file extension seems to also have been used in Microsoft Picture It!, a discontinued photo editing software for Windows that was originally released in 1996.
It looks like that mhp files were related to home publishing part of the program, whatever that may be.
If any program can somehow access or open this particular *.mhp file, it would be Microsoft Picture It!.
Microsoft Picture It! allowed users to export their files to certain graphics format. However, whenever this is actually possible for *.mhp files could not be reliably verified by us.
