File extension vdata is associated with the Vaulty a security software for Google Android mobile platform that allows users to hide and secure picture images and videos.
The vdata file stores secured picture image, or video.
By default, vdata files are hidden and stored in the DCIM\.Vaulty\ folder on SD card of the phone.
To recover picture from vdata file use a HxD Hex Editor or any other Hex editor.
Open the vdata file in Hex editor. Delete "obscured" string at the beginning of the file and rename vdata file extension to jpg, or png. Now the file is viewable in any picture image viewer.
If the "obscured" string is not at the beginning of the file it is a video. Rename vdata file extension to mp4, or 3gp and open it in the multimedia player.
