Veeam Backup, from Veeam, uses the vrb file extension for files that preserve reversed incremental changes. In this backup method, the VBK file is updated with newer backup data while the blocks it replaces are saved in a VRB file.
Each vrb file contains the VBK data blocks replaced by incremental data during a particular backup run. The files do not change after they are created and allow Veeam Backup to access earlier restore points in the backup chain. VRB files are managed as part of the Veeam Backup chain rather than as independent user files.
Use Veeam Backup on Microsoft Windows to work with a vrb file. It is not intended to be opened independently; keep it with the associated VBK file and other files in the backup chain, and do not edit or rename it.
A vrb file cannot be meaningfully converted to another file format as a standalone file. Use the restore or export functions in Veeam Backup to recover files or data from the backup chain instead.
