Check out some options how png files might be converted to graphml format.
It is unlikely that any kind of png to graphml conversion is possible, considering that .graphiml files are XML based and used for graphs.
At best, you can use some graphing software like yEd and use .png picture as imported object along graph, for example as descriptions or something like that.
Unfortunately, there is no detailed software record in the database for this conversion.

Usually this happens when the conversion would try to convert different types of data between each other, such as audio to image, or it can't be done because incompatibility between programs, caused by closed file formats, very limited support or by other problems.

A png file extension is related to the Adobe Fireworks. A png file stores Firework's PNGs are based on the Portable Network Graphic (PNG) format, but contain additional proprietary metadata.

Files with graphml extension can be found as graphs in GraphML graphing format. Specific XML format for graphs.
