File extension crypt15 is mainly associated with the WhatsApp Messenger, an instant messaging service and client for various mobile platforms.
The crypt15 file stores encrypted and protected database backup (AES-256 encryption) with chat history. Introduced in 2022 a file format is similar to SQLite database format. It is produced when E2E option is enabled for backup. Not even Whatsapp can restore these backups without the key password.
By default, the file is called: msgstore.db.crypt15 and should be located in Google Drive.
