The z12 file extension is associated with WinZIP. Its one part of a multi-volume compressed ZIP archive.

WinZip uses this split file sequence for multi-volume archives:
- .zip or exe (SFX) for first volume
- .z01, z02, z03 ....etc. for any additional volumes
