The h3c file extension is associated with the Windows version of Heroes of Might & Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia. The original game was published by 3DO, and Ubisoft later acquired the Might and Magic series after 3DO's bankruptcy in 2003.
An h3c file stores campaign data used by the game, rather than the data for a single standalone scenario. It is used together with the game's other files when the player selects and plays a campaign.
The format was created for the Microsoft Windows release of Heroes of Might & Magic III and is mainly encountered with the original game and compatible versions. It is a game-specific format rather than a general-purpose document format.
Open an h3c file with Heroes of Might & Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia on Microsoft Windows. Place the file where the game can access its campaign files, then select the corresponding campaign from the game's campaign menu.
An h3c file is not intended to be opened as a text document or with a general-purpose file viewer.
There is no standard conversion for an h3c file. It contains campaign data for Heroes of Might & Magic III and is meant to be used by that game.
To use the campaign in another compatible installation, copy the original h3c file rather than converting it.
