The themepack file extension is related to Microsoft Windows 7 operating system and used for its default desktop theme packages.
THEMEPACK format is a simple cab archive, that contains a configuration file in theme format that handles settings like color and a DesktopBackground folder that contains images in JPG format. These images are typically in the 1920x1200 resolution or higher.
Might also contain other elements, like screen saver, sounds, desktop icons, mouse pointers etc.
Windows 7 themes can be easily applied to Windows 8 or Windows 10 as well. You can find many great themes at Microsoft Personalization Gallery website.
To install the theme in both Windows 7 and Windows 8 simply double-click on the *.themepack file.
You can extract the contents of the *.themepack files with 7-zip or any other archiver with support of Microsoft CAB format.
