The most convenient way to convert text documents saved in .pages files to Microsoft Word document (.doc, .docx) format would be to use any of the Pages apps for macOS (OS X) or iOS.
On Windows, a viable alternative would be to install the latest version of LibreOffice suite that apparently supports some versions of iWorks documents. This may not always be perfect, and some formatting may be lost during the conversion process.
However, if you do not own Mac or iOS device with Pages (and have no friend that does), or you cannot open your .pages files in LibreOffice, there is still hope yet. You can rename .pages file extension to .zip ► unpack the archive ► find file preview.pdf file and open it in any PDF viewer.
The preview.pdf file stores preview of Pages document with text formatting and other settings. You can use Microsoft Word 2013 to edit, or Adobe Acrobat Reader view it to at least get sense on what's in the original document.
