OpenTTD is an open-source reimplementation of Transport Tycoon Deluxe, the transport game originally released for MS-DOS by Microprose. Its AI scripts use .nut files to define the behavior and logic of computer-controlled companies in the game.
An AI script can consist of one or more .nut files and supporting files. OpenTTD reads them from its AI content and makes the available AI opponents selectable in the game.
The format remains in use by OpenTTD, including its Microsoft Windows version. AI content can be installed through OpenTTD's content system or copied to the game's user data directory.
Install OpenTTD on Microsoft Windows and add the AI script through the game's content system. Alternatively, copy the complete AI package, including its .nut files and supporting files, to the OpenTTD user data directory's ai folder.
To inspect the file as text, open it with a plain-text or source-code editor. It is normally intended to be loaded by OpenTTD rather than opened as a standalone document.
There is no general-purpose conversion for an OpenTTD AI .nut file. It is a source script used by the game, so conversion to another document or media format is not meaningful.
