The pssg file extension is associated with Colin McRae: DiRT 2, a rally racing game developed and published by Codemasters.
A pssg file is a proprietary game resource archive. It can contain data used by the game, including text, graphics and sounds, along with other resources required during play.
The same type of game data is also used by the Windows version of DiRT Rally.
Colin McRae: DiRT 2 and DiRT Rally use pssg files automatically when running on Microsoft Windows. Players normally do not need to open these files manually.
Specialized game-modding tools may be able to inspect or extract some pssg files, but compatibility depends on the game and file.
A pssg file cannot normally be converted to a standard file format with general-purpose software. The games expect their original proprietary resource format.
Specialized modding tools may extract individual resources or repack modified game data, but this is different from a general file conversion and may not work with every pssg file.
