The sv8 file extension is associated with RollerCoaster Tycoon, an economic simulation game for Microsoft Windows published by Atari.
A sv8 file stores game data, including the saved state of a player's theme park and progress. It is part of the game's own file system rather than a general-purpose data format.
The format is associated with the legacy Windows release of RollerCoaster Tycoon and is not intended for use as a modern interchange format.
Open a sv8 file with RollerCoaster Tycoon on Microsoft Windows. Load it from the game's saved-game menu rather than opening it in a text editor.
There is no generally supported conversion from sv8 files to another file format. The file contains native RollerCoaster Tycoon game data, so it should normally be used with the game that created it.
