Birdstep Technologies RDM is a database management system for applications that embed or use an RDM database. The TAF format was used by older RDM software to store database information.
A TAF file is part of an RDM database rather than a general-purpose document. Its contents are intended to be managed by RDM and the application that created the database, not edited directly by the user.
The format is associated with legacy RDM deployments and may not be used by current database software. The exact files required alongside a TAF file depend on the RDM database and the application that produced it.
Open a TAF file with the Birdstep Technologies RDM software or with the application that created the database. The file may require the other files from the same RDM database, so copy or move the complete database set rather than the TAF file alone.
A general text editor or office application cannot interpret the database contents correctly. If the original RDM software is unavailable, contact the supplier of the application that created the file.
Conversion normally requires the original RDM software or the application that uses the database.
When supported by that software, export the database records to a format such as CSV or another database format, then import the exported data into the target system. Preserve the original database files before attempting an export.
