We have found one software suitable in our database for this conversion.
It should be possible to export the table from a DWG drawing to Excel XLS format with a dedicated function (usually export table) in a CAD program that supports this function. Not every DWGs have related tables with drawing information, so it is not a common conversion that can be done with every DWG drawing.
Some tools also offer a way to import AutoCAD objects from .dwg file directly on a list in Excel, which might be another relevant dwg to xls conversion.
DWG
Files with dwg extension are used for the original CAD format originally introduced in Autodesk AutoCAD. The latest version of DWG format is usuaually proprietary and can only be created in AutoCAD. Other CAD programs can usually import it but not create its proprietary form. Because of this, DWGs are often exported to DXF interchange format so that they can be seamlessly used in other CAD programs.
XLS
Files with xls extension are best known as spreadsheets from Microsoft Excel. A spreadsheet is basically a grid of cells sorted in rows and columns. Each cell can contain text, numeric or formula data. Excel XLS spreadsheets can be opened in most other similar programs, such as OpenOffice.org Calc.
