IF2 file extension - PADS temporary data

What is if2 file? How to open if2 files?

File type specification:

Temporary file type icon Temporary file type

File extension if2 is also used on one of the file types generated by the PADS PCB software from Siemens (originally Mentor group).

These files are generated during the gerber file generation process and usually found as .pho.if2 files, probably based on the original .pho files.

They should be automatically deleted when you close the document window in PADS, but sometimes (crashes, power outages) these can remain in the folder.
