STL file extension - SPEFO stellar spectra analysis
What is stl file? How to open stl files?
File type specification:
The stl file extension is associated with the SPEFO (A Simple, Yet Powerful Program for One-Dimensional Spectra Processing) for MS-DOS operating system.
The stl file stores spectra analysis file is used by SPEFO.
This stl file type entry was marked as obsolete and no longer supported file format.
This type of file is no longer actively used and is most likely obsolete. This is typically the case for system files in old operating systems, file types from long discontinued software, or previous versions of certain file types (like documents, projects etc.) that were replaced in higher versions of their original programs.
The default software associated to open stl file:
Company or developer:
Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic
SPEFO is a small, yet powerful program used for processing stellar spectra at the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Ondrejov. It was originally written in 1990 by Dr. Jirí Horn for processing spectral plates obtained with the 2m telescope of the Ondrejov observatory and scanned with the local five channel microphotometer. Since then the code had been under constant improvement until the sudden death of the author in December 1994. Currently SPEFO is used mainly for the reduction of data from the Ondrejov Reticon detector (1872 pixels, 12 bit A/D), however it can process data from other instruments too, provided that they are in FITS one-dimensional format.
List of recommended software applications associated to the .stl file extension
Recommended software programs are sorted by OS platform (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android etc.)
and possible program actions that can be done with the file: like open stl file, edit stl file, convert stl file, view stl file, play stl file etc. (if exist software for corresponding action in File-Extensions.org's database).
